Rayleigh Megazone is part of a community
project called "The Warehouse Centre". This centre is a dynamic and exciting youth & community resource that opened in 1994 in response to a vision that was adopted by local Christians to provide a place for young people who had 'nowhere to go and nothing to do'.
The Warehouse Centre and Rayleigh Megazone are owned by a registered charity, ACT (Active Christian Trust). All the net income generated from the various activities within the Centre, including Megazone, MegaPlay, Creative Arts Room, Music Practice Rooms and Conference Rooms are re-invested to further develop and improve the Centre.
Much of the Centre is run by volunteers from both local churches and the wider community, especially the popular S-Kape Youth Centre and Dads & Kids Club.
The aims of ACT are to:
- Create opportunities for young people
- Work in partnership with the community
- Provide quality leisure, sport and cultural facilities
- Help young people develop trusting relationships in a safe, non-judgemental and caring environment.
