Rayleigh Megazone was established 14 years ago to provide a complete entertainment and leisure facility. It is non-profit making and any excess income is re-invested in the centre to improve it further. Staff regularly organise charitable events and support various special needs and disabled sports charities.
A new Mega Play zone for the younger generation has just been opened, further enhancing the facilities. The older generation is also catered for with badminton and indoor bowls activities being a just a couple of examples.
The Barclays judges said “Staff demonstrate a passion for providing a welcoming environment and creating a leisure centre which caters for all generations and all members of the local community. The relationship it has with local schools, churches, voluntary youth groups and businesses in the area demonstrates how much it is part of the community.
“The vision to go beyond customers expectations and create lasting memories for Children, young people, families and all members of the local community, really does set them apart form the competition and make them worthy winners.”
